PM Modi holds talks with Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing; discusses trade, border management
U Min Aung Hlaing's five-day visit to India comes less than two months after he became the president of Myanmar after high-stakes parliament elections.
The Chintan Shivir, organised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, is taking place at the University of Patanjali in Haridwar.

Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on Thursday, April 30, attended the Chintan Shivir, organised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs at University of Patanjali in Haridwar. He said that the bedrock upon which Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat vision is build lies with the tribal communities.
“It is the Prime Minister’s dream that every citizen of the nation contributes significantly to the construction of a developed India. To this end, a ‘Chintan Shivir’ is being held here, and I am confident that the individual standing in the last row of Indian society will now certainly scale the very pinnacle of success… The very bedrock upon which a developed India is to be built lies with our tribal communities,” Ramdev said.

Ramdev said that the objective behind this event was to empower the people of tribal regions, who have remained neglected, deprived, and marginalised. He noted that this will keep them firmly rooted in their traditions, while simultaneously guiding them toward progress.

“We aim to enable them to such an extent that they experience a profound sense of pride—realising that they are not only the indigenous inhabitants of this land but are also destined to lead this nation to the pinnacle of success. To achieve this, we must forge new dimensions of development in harmony with our cultural heritage and build Viksit Bharat,” he added.
Apart from Baba Ramdev, the inaugural session of the Chintan Shivir at the University of Patanjali was attended by Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram, Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uikey, Secretary Tribal Affairs Ranjana Chopra, Founder Secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth Acharya Balkrishna and other senior officials of Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
The session kickstarted with Vande Mataram and witnessed the felicitation of distinguished guests, and the sacred lighting of the lamp .
“Inspired by the Prime Minister’s vision in 2023–24 for a Whole-of-Government approach, the Chintan Shivir aims to strengthen horizontal and vertical integration for better coordination in implementation of schemes. It provides a platform for ‘Sahbhaag, Samvaad and Samadhan’, incorporates voices from outside the system, and promotes holistic well-being through health and meditation sessions, while shaping a roadmap towards ‘Viksit Janjati, Viksit Bharat’,” read a post on the official X handle of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
The Chintan Shivir, organised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, commences on an auspicious note.

During the first day’s meetings of the two-day event, the focus remained on the concepts of dialogue and solutions to ensure that schemes move beyond paper and actually reach every person. It was acknowledged that many schemes are failing to achieve their intended impact.
